What We Do…

Defending a client who is facing extradition from the United Kingdom or the United States to a foreign country is an extremely detailed and exhausting process. The treaty laws are unique and require tremendous attention to finding evidence and discrepancies. From the onset, we work with your legal team to make sure that all aspects of the treaty have been fully adhered to and very importantly that the extradition request establishes that there is “dual criminality.” This means from the very beginning, the detailed process of working with your legal team to determine whether the criminal charges brought by the country requesting your extradition would constitute being considered “criminal conduct” in the United Kingdom or the United States. One of the most successful routes to challenging extradition is to prove that there is no “dual criminality,” particularly where white-collar offenses are concerned.
